Dr. Charles Sepos began teaching music in 1974. His thousands of students include successful music professionals around the world. He created a popular, long-running course for the Houston Symphony and Rice University Office of Continuing Studies, and was a Teaching Artist for Texas Institute for Arts in Education. As Visiting Assistant Professor at Shepherd School of Music, he earned Rice University's highest Course/Instructor evaluation. He also taught at San Francisco Conservatory of Music, University of Colorado College of Music, and Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music, where he earned Bachelor of Music, Master of Music and Doctor of Musical Arts degrees. Charles Sepos served as Coordinator of the American Composers Forum Bay Area Chapter, as President and as Vice-President of the Houston Composers Alliance, and as Director of Public Relations, Associate Concert Director, and Trustee of the Cincinnati Composers Guild. Dr. Sepos is a co-founder and Composer-in-Residence of Cotati Philharmonic, now in its sixth season. He serves on the Board of Directors of American Philharmonic Association. Charles Sepos is host and executive producer of Curtain Call every Friday from noon to 1 on KRCB 91 FM National Public Radio Santa Rosa. His guests have included flutist Sir James Galway, pianist Andre Watts, violinist Pinchas Zukerman, performance artist Laurie Anderson, vocalist/conductor Bobby McFerrin, Juilliard String Quartet founding violinist Robert Mann, Kronos Quartet, the Reduced Shakespeare Company, Anonymous 4, violinist Chee-Yun, environmental activist Erin Brockovich, Eroica Trio, Broadway composer Jerry Herman (Hello, Dolly; Mame; La Cage aux Folles), pianist Jon Kimura Parker, Indian sarod master Ali Akbar Khan. Charles Sepos was host of Curtain Call Television month on KRCB TV 22 Public Broadcasting System affiliate for San Francisco Bay area. Over the two-year run, his guests included violinist Hilary Hahn, flutist Viviana Guzmán, Pearl / Gray Guitar Duo, Alexander String Quartet, electric bass guitarist Dean Peer, guitarist Alex De Grassi, Andean multi-instrumentalist Quique Cruz, Turtle Island String Quartet, and Kitka Women's Vocal Ensemble singing the folk music of Eastern Europe. Charles Sepos has designed graphic and/or web presence for electric bass wizard Dean Peer, Spectrum Healthcare, Cotati Philharmonic, Cincinnati Composers Guild, Houston Composers Alliance, and numerous business clients.
